Aussie Clear Decking Oil

Aussie Clear Dark

From $33.00

Aussie Clear Dark is made with the same technology as AUSSIE CLEAR, so it’s designed for external Australian conditions. It is the ideal product to use on light to mid-toned timber like Blackbutt or even Cypress Pine, where you wish to darken the colour to a pleasing “Spotted Gum” brown, but still, retain a natural unsealed look. Aussie Clear Dark repels and controls moisture, increasing it’s stability and contains a mouldicide to help prevent unsightly sap stain mould. Aussie Clear Dark is a true penetrative oil product so it will never crack and peel.

Recommended Uses

An Exterior Timber oil perfect for darkening a light timber can be used wherever an opaque protective exterior finish is required. The Aussie Clear Dark has colours that blend well with the outdoors. Some typical applications are decking stain, fencing, cladding, fascia, exterior doors, window frames, exposed beams or any other timber where a wood stain is desired. We recommend sampling the colour on a small section of timber or off-cut prior to full application.

Directions For Use

Stir well before use. Ensure a clean dry surface, free from dirt, grease and wax. Previously varnished or painted surfaces must be thoroughly stripped. Badly weathered surfaces should be sanded back or cleaned using a wood cleaner such as Preschem GREY DECK CLEANER. Stir the measured dose of the Aussie Clear Dark tinter pack into the correctly sized can of AUSSIE CLEAR thoroughly before use. Aussie Clear Dark can be applied by any convenient means, such as brush, roller, spray or dip application, however, decks and large areas are most easily applied with a lambswool applicator. On dressed timber, the strength of the stain colour can be controlled somewhat by application quantity, and wiping will make the colour more transparent. Any excess stain on the timber 1-2 hours after application should be wiped off. If the timber still looks dry, another application may be required. Allow 24 hours for thorough drying.

Restoration

If the timber looks dry or the colour has faded simply reapply another coat. Sanding and cleaning of the surface are recommended prior to this application. Some high weather areas may need regular inspections and reapplications every few years.
